Higher English education course details

If you are considering this course, your English is probably pretty good, so in this course we will skip the basics and focus on advanced English learners.

The HEEC is carefully planned by our team to develop and strengthen your scholastic and academic English, it will cover the most important areas of the English language related to undergraduate and postgraduate education.

In this course you will also acquire the main skills required for developing advanced communication abilities, and after a free detailed consultation with one of our teachers the course will be tailored to your needs and goals.

THESE ARE SOME OF THE POINTS THE HIGHER ENGLISH EDUCATION COURSE COVERS

LISTENING IS NOT JUST LISTENING

As an advanced English learner it is not enough to just superficially listen to audiobooks, radio/tv shows, or your interlocutor’s speech.

You need to become an active listener who will think about the text, raise questions about it, critically analyze it, and also learn to understand the non-verbal gestures of your conversational partner and to respond adequately through facial expressions, posture, and body language.

SPEAKING IS NOT JUST SPEAKING

Speaking is the second of the four language skills, and there are many types of speaking.

In the (HEEC) you will learn about imitative, intensive, responsive, interactive, and extensive speaking.

We will also talk about the different types of speech like: entertaining speech, informative speech, persuasive speech, motivational speech, oratorical speech, debate speech etc., so the (HEEC) will prepare you for the various situations that life and career bring along.

READING IS NOT JUST READING

Reading is an indispensable skill when learning a new language and if we want to study English in more detail and maybe even teach others, it is not enough to just read fluently and pronounce words correctly. You need to learn about reading strategies like rereading, setting reading goals, reading out loud, thinking about what you are reading, asking questions about the text etc.

The (HEEC) will also cover the four main reading techniques:

  • Skimming
  • Scanning
  • Intensive reading
  • Extensive reading

WRITING IS NOT JUST WRITING

Writing is one of the most important foundations in the field of education, and based on your writing skills you will be judged and assessed throughout your life, whether it is primary, secondary, or higher education, and even later during your career and your private life.

When we talk about writing, we can’t help but mention the famous saying of Martin Luther King who said, “If you want to change the world, pick up a pen and write”, so in this course we will encounter a lot of useful facts and rules related to writing and we will discuss the most common writing styles.

  • Narrative writing
  • Expository writing
  • Persuasive writing
  • Analytical writing
